In the Beginning

The Covid-19 era has provided some extra time for reflection on where we've been and where we want to go next. As our 5-year anniversary approaches, looking back at how we arrived on this farm with 35 alpacas, 6 chickens, 2 dogs and 2 cats, I'm both amazed at how much we've done and eager to get working on new projects.  If the goal of moving to the country was to enjoy a slower pace of life that's not quite how things turned out!!  But it has been amazing.  And with the world in lock-down mode we are grateful for outdoor space and animals to distract us occasionally from the serious times we live in.

Forget-Me-Not Alpacas is a true partnership in every sense of the word between myself, my husband Geoff and daughter Denise.  We left our homes in Newmarket and Uxbridge in 2014 to pursue our dreams of farming and never looked back. We had a barn built, put up fencing, brought the animals, implemented a store, built a chicken coop and established hay fields.  This year we are working on vegetable and pollinator gardens to support our goal of sustainable living and enabling nature. We love this life and have met so many wonderful, like-minded people.

Covid-19 restrictions present us with new challenges that still need to be worked out for both the immediate future and long-term.  We enjoy sharing our alpaca experience with other animals lovers but may need to find new ways to do that for a while. In the meantime we will continue to share life on the farm through social media and keep working on new things to show you once we can get together again. Be well!
